Bring It On…Strategies for Resilience & Teamwork

The presentation will create awareness about our default response patterns and how we can learn to ‘Shift Perspective’ to lead us to more positive and productive interactions with the people we engage with every day, from the front lines to the boardroom. Meg will offer a lighthearted look at how shifting demographics are impacting inter-personal dynamics in society at large. Understanding generational differences helps us create an atmosphere where we can communicate more effectively.

Would Mr. Rogers be Proud of Your Neighbourhood?   Working Cooperatively as a Community

It is rare to be able to choose your neighbours, but we can choose how to treat our neighbours.  In this session, we will be focusing on the importance of good communications to maintain the mental health of a Condo community.  A mental health expert will give tips on how to deal with difficult people and how to be respectful of your neighbours during times of potential conflict.  A Property Manager and a Legal Expert will discuss how to use the Condo act to take the "personal decisions" out of the equation, while still delivering a personal message to the members of your Condo.

Who Can You Turn To?  Partnering with Community Resources

More and more Ontarians have been choosing to live in Condos.  As the Condo industry has grown, so too has the number of community resources available to assist Condos with their day-to-day operations, health, and governance.  Within our panel, an officer will discuss how to engage with law enforcement or by-law officers when needed.  A property manager will talk about resources related to running a Condo, and a mental health expert will highlight some of the mental health resources available in your communities.

Condo communities are in a constant state of transition.  Board Members, Property Managers, and Service Contractors often change frequently.  Our panel consists of two Property Managers and two Board Members who will talk about the challenges associated with transitions and  offer up some lessons that they have learned in the process.  This session will be a working session where we will engage in roundtable discussions so that we may all share our experiences and seek to improve.
